Laporta provides update on Ousmane Dembele’s future at Barcelona

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has offered an update on French striker Ousmane Dembele’s future at the club.


, currently out injured, will be out of contract in 2022 and he is yet to agree a new extension. However,


says the 24-year-old has already made it clear he wants to extend his stay at Camp Nou.

“The relationship with Ousmane is very good, he feels loved and we want him to continue.

“He’s told me that he really wants to return to the pitch and wear the Barcelona shirt. With the help of everyone we’re going to ensure that this player, who has great quality, gets back playing and playing often, ensure that the bad moments don’t happen again. The club has a plan to make sure that Ousmane can show his talent and his quality.”

The Frenchman is currently recovering from knee surgery, having picked up an injury at Euro 2020 playing for France, and is expected to return in early November.
