CSKA Moscow in talks for Milan’s Castillejo

The Rossoneri outcast has been heavily linked with a move away from the Italian club in recent weeks.

Since his €15m move from Villarreal in 2018,

Samu Castillejo

has failed to live up to expectations at San Siro. The Milan winger has recently been snubbed from the club’s Champions League squad as he seems to have no place in Stefano Pioli’s plans for the team.

According to

Calciomercato

and

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, CSKA Moscow are in talks with Milan over Castillejo’s potential departure. The player was

linked

with Getafe and Sampdoria earlier this summer, but he was reportedly uninterested in leaving the club.

Castillejo was subject to online abuse from fans, which resulted in the Spaniard deactivating his Twitter account. Pioli’s decision to exclude Castillejo from his side’s Champions League squad is expected to push the 26-year-old toward a move away from the club. The transfer market is currently closed in Italy, but a move to CSKA is possible as the Russian Premier League’s window will remain open until September 7.
