Liverpool and Leeds to make a late move for Sampdoria's Damsgaard

The 21-year-old midfielder made 37 appearances last season during which he was able to score 2 goals and provide 4 assists. He also performed impressively in the Euro 2020, scoring two goals and providing an assist as he led Denmark to the competition's semi-finals.

According to

La Repubblica

Leeds United

 and

Liverpool

are in the race to sign Sampdoria ace

Mikkel Damsgaard t

his summer. It’s been reported earlier that Denmark international could be sold for around £26 million this summer.

The ability to offer the Sampdoria ace regular first-team action reportedly gives

Marcelo Bielsa’s

side a huge advantage in the race as both of the Premier League clubs are genuine candidates to sign

Damsgaard

.

Tottenham were also interested in signing the left-winger

, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, earlier this summer. However,

signing Bryan Gil from Sevilla

 put an end to

Tottenham’s

interest. In addition to concluding Lamela in the deal, Tottenham paid Sevilla a £21.6m fee for the 20-year-old Spanish winger.

Damsgaard

moved to Sampdoria last summer

and since then his performance has been impressive. He also jumped at the opportunity to impress more when

Denmark

reached the semi-finals at the Euro 2020 this summer as he was able to score two goals, including a free-kick against England in the semi-final.
