Ancelotti: I don't know nor care if Real Madrid sign Mbappe

The French talisman has been heavily linked to Real Madrid, but the coach admits he has no idea if the deal will take place.

Carlo Ancelotti

has stated that signing

Kylian Mbappe

before the transfer window shuts is unimportant to him.

The forward's future at PSG is unknown as he enters the last year of his agreement and has been silent on whether or not he intends to extend it.

Madrid have been connected with the France international for some time and are seen to be the frontrunner to sign him if he leaves PSG.

Ancelotti claims he has no idea whether the Spanish heavyweights would sign the 22-year-old and is happy with his existing squad.

"I don't know if he will arrive," he said at a press conference when asked about his side's interest in Mbappe.

"I don't care what will happen. I have a very good and very strong squad. They give me a lot of happiness. I am focused on that.

"Let's wait these 10 days and now I am focused on the team that I have."

He added: "This squad, as it is, can compete for any trophy. We have very big stars here. I'm not going to name all of them, but we have a lot of top players. This squad is full of stars.

"We have to work together. The star, if he is able to compete for the others, wins titles."

Mbappe has had a great start to the

Ligue 1

season for PSG. So far, he has played all three of their games, scoring his first goal in a 4-2 win against Brest on Friday, to go along with two assists in the previous two fixtures.

When questioned about the attacker's prospects before the game,

Mauricio Pochettino

stated he expected him to stay.

"He's working really hard to be ready this season and I see him staying with us this season," he said.
