The Argentina international close to Tottenham
Reports in Italy and Argentina suggest that Tottenham have increased their offer to €50m plus €5m million bonus for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero.
The Argentina international already agreed personal terms with Tottenham for a deal to June 2026. The news also indicates that Barcelona also wants to secure Romero's services, but their financial problems prevent them from making a suitable offer.
Romero has not yet started pre-season training as he was with Argentina in the Copa América and won the title. Atalanta are considering Juventus' Merih Demiral to fill Romero's place.
