Aston Villa wants to sign a new deal with Emi Martinez

The transfer talks have convinced Aston villa to consider signing a new contract with Martinez.

Aston Villa’s

goalkeeper

Emi Martinez

experienced an impressive season at the club and international level proving himself as Argentina’s first choice in the goalkeeping position with his good performance for Aston Villa. Now he has attracted a lot of attention from big European clubs, so Aston Villa has decided to sign a new contract with him, with some improved terms to avoid losing him.

The 28-year-old Argentina international joined Aston Villa with a four-year deal from Arsenal last summer, and his price was £20m, which seems like a very good value now as his former club has been looking for a new goalkeeper now.

Despite Martinez’s interest in staying at Villa Park, the club insists on signing a new contract with new terms to avoid having problems with other interested clubs like the problem they have with Manchester City about their captain

Jack Grealish

.

Aston Villa has signed one of Emi Martinez’s compatriots,

Emi Buendia

, and the goalkeeper had a big part in his transfer to Midlands as he contacted the player and convinced him to join Aston Villa instead of his old club, Arsenal.

"He [Martinez] already told me about a lot of the club and the city,"

said Buendia, as quoted by

OneFootball

.<em>

“He told me a lot of very good things about everything. Of course, to have someone like him is very good for my adaptation. So it will be better."
