Chelsea used Emerson in their offer for Sevilla’s Kounde

The Blues tried to make Jules Kounde’ pursuit happen by using Emerson Palmieri in their offer, as per reports from Sportitalia, but Sevilla asked for a different player and more money.

The France international’s release clause is €80m but the Spanish side are willing to accept €50m plus a player.

transfer expert Gianluigi Longari, the two parties have been negotiating for over two weeks now. He reported that the first offer included

Emerson Palmieri

, but Sevilla were not looking to add the Italy international to their side, as he was not suited.

Emerson has been linked with a return to Serie A, with Napoli and Roma keen on signing him, but his €25m asking price changed their mind, especially since his contract at Chelsea is due to expire in 2022. He is also given were little game time under the reign of Thomas Tuchel.
