Ibrahimovic plans to return for season debut

The Swede is working on his recovery at Milanello and aims to be prepared for the first clash of the season against Sampdoria.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

underwent keyhole surgery on his knee in June and his recovery was supposed to take two months. He sustained an injury when they went against Juventus in May and he could not feature for his country at Euro 2020.

, the Spain international’s recovery is continuing without a problem and he plans to return for

Milan

’s battle against

Sampdoria

on August 23.

The 40-year-old may join the training group at the start of August to get prepared for facing Sampdoria in their first clash of the 2021-22 season.

Should the former Manchester United star fail to be ready on that day,

Olivier Giroud

may replace him in the starting XI, having his first-ever Serie A match as he made a move from Chelsea on a €2m contract.

Milan will go against OGC Nice Real Madrid in friendly clashes on July 31 and August 8.
