The Giallorossi have already agreed to personal terms with the Arsenal midfielder.

Granit Xhaka

has been heavily linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico in recent weeks.

Roma

made their first bid for the player two weeks ago, but the negotiations were put on hold by Arsenal as they were reluctant to accept a move before signing a replacement for the player.

According to

Fabrizio Romano

, Roma are now planning to make a second bid for the Arsenal midfielder. The player is reportedly leaning toward a move away from the Emirates Stadium ahead of the next season, with Jose Mourinho being a big fan of him. On the other hand, Arsenal have completed the signing of

Albert Sambi Lokonga

and they are reportedly open to start negotiations with the Italian side.

After finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, the Gunners are determined to bolster their squad ahead of their next league campaign. The departure of Xhaka might open up more space for the younger players in Mikel Arteta’s squad, while the club are also eager to make a bid for Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.

Xhaka joined Arsenal from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016 and quickly established himself as a regular starter for the Gunners. The Swiss midfielder has featured in 220 matches for the north London side, scoring 13 goals and providing 20 assists.
