Chelsea hand wonderkid Armando Broja a new five-year deal

Chelsea starlet Armando Broja has committed his future to the Blues after signing a five-year contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2026.

The 19-year-old striker spent last season on loan in the

Eredivisie

with

Vitesse Arnhem

, where he made 34 appearances, scoring 11 goals as they finished fourth in the league and lost to

Ajax

in the final of the KNVB Cup.

The teenager impressed as the Blues beat

Peterborough

6-1 on their first pre-season match on Saturday afternoon, and there is a high possibility he will be part of

Thomas Tuchel

's first-team plans for the next season.

"I am really excited to be signing a new contract with Chelsea,"

"Having come through the Academy here it was a special moment for me to make my first-team debut last year, before gaining further experience on loan at Vitesse last season.

"I want to build on these foundations and I am really looking forward to progressing and making an impact at Chelsea in the years to come."

The Albanian international made his

Chelsea

debut under Frank Lampard in March 2020, coming off the bench in a Premier League clash with Everton in what was the last match before the Premier League was halted due to the outbreak of coronavirus. 

The forward made his international debut for Albania in September last year and has now made six appearances for the national team.
