Real Madrid could sell Luka Jovic if a lucrative offer comes through

Despite paying about €63 million two years ago on forward Luka Jovic, Real Madrid might trade him this summer.

The 23-year-old has only scored twice in 21

La Liga

outings at Santiago Bernabeu, failing to live up to his hype.

Last season, he was loaned out to Eintracht Frankfurt, netting four goals in 18 appearances.

Jovic will have hoped for a brighter future under new manager

Carlo Ancelotti

heading into this season, but he is off to a shaky start.

This week, the Serbian, like with

Ferland Mendy

, has not been with the main Real Madrid training team during pre-season instead of resting from a muscle ailment.

According to a report in

Mundo Deportivo

, Real Madrid is willing to sell Jovic this summer if a "sweet" deal comes in.

Real Madrid are clearly not going to recoup their investment in Jovic, and a significant loss from the €63 million costs is a foregone conclusion, with Transfermarkt currently valuing the Serbian at just €20 million.

If Jovic isn't in Ancelotti's initiatives, Los Blancos may be better off trimming their costs, and that may very well be the plan as long as demand exists.
