The young Dutch goalkeeper will play in the Premier League next season.
have finalized the signing of Ajax young Dutch goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen.
The 21-year-old, who is 6ft 8in tall, will move to the Premier League after making four appearances for Ajax last season. He started his career with FC Emmen in the Dutch second division and played 34 games for the team before joining Ajax in July 2019. At national level, he has played for the Dutch Under-19 and Under-21 teams.
From next season, Scherpen will compete with Robert Sanchez, Jason Steele and Kristin Walton inside the Brighton goal.
Brighton Boss, Graham Potter said:
"We’re delighted to welcome Kjell to the club
"He’s a player we have been monitoring for a while and we see him as a player with a lot of the right attributes.
"As well as his size he is someone we think will work very hard to improve all aspects of his game as he gets used to English football.
The figure for Brighton to sign the young Dutch goalkeeper is still unknown.
