The Sassuolo midfielder, who shone for his nation at Euro 2020, has stated that a transfer to Turin is his first choice this summer.
Manuel Locatelli says Juventus' interest is "pleasing," but theEuro 2020
champion appears torule out a transfer to Arsenal this summer
The Sassuolo midfielder exceeded expectations for his country at the European Championships this summer, putting up strong performances when filling in for Marco Verratti.
Prior to that, his value was already high, withSerie A
giants in Turin contemplating a move, but other clubs, includingPremier League
powerhouses, have joined the chase in recent weeks.
While on international duty, Locatelli insists he wasn't paying heed to transfer rumors, but he did tellSky Sport Italia
about the adoring looks he's getting:
"Up until now, I haven't really thought about it, I couldn't.
"The interest from Juventus is pleasing, they are a great team, and I have said it several times."
Locatelli came off the bench in the Euro 2020 final to assist Italy to win.
He didn't have to take a penalty since England missed three of their own, allowing the Azzurri to win the continental title.
The 23-year-old, on the other hand, had stepped up in a semi-final shootout against Spain, only to be denied.
He was eager to move forward once again, but he preferred to watch others do the job for Roberto Mancini's team.
Locatelli continued about messing up his lines against Spain:
"The world was collapsing around me, and he [Giorgio Chiellini] kept repeating to rest assured because we would have won.
"He told me the same [against England], and apparently, he was right. I would have taken one. Anyway, luckily the others did it."
