Diego Simeone has signed a new deal with LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid which will keep him at the club until 2024.
The 51-year-old will continue his adventure with the Rojiblancos until 2024 as announced on theclub’s official website
The Argentinean has been at the helm since 2011 and has madeAtletico
one of the best clubs in Europe.
has won eight titles in his 10-year spell at the Spanish capital including two LaLiga titles, a Copa del Rey, two Europa League, two European Super Cups, and a Spanish Super Cup.
He also helped Atletico reach the Champions League final in 2014 and 2016, losing on both occasions to city rivalsReal Madrid
Such statistics have been rewarded with a new contract from Atleti, with Simeone agreeing to remain in charge until the summer of 2024.
Confirmation of his new deal came on Thursday, as the club said in a statement:
"Diego Pablo Simeone has signed a contract extension until June 30, 2024.
"Since the Argentine joined in 2011, we have enjoyed one of the most successful phases of our club's history – winning eight trophies in the process.
"During this period, Simeone has become the coach who has won the most titles (eight) and games (316) in our club’s history.
Four members of Simeone’s coaching staff —
— have also extended their deals until 2024.
"The members of his coaching staff have also signed contract extensions until 2024. Oscar Ortega, Pablo Vercellone, Nelson Vivas and Hernan Bonvinvini have also played a big role in our recent success."
