Locatelli reluctant to join Arsenal as Juventus get ready to sign him

Mon 05 July 2021 | 13:54

According to multiple sources in Italy, Juventus will contact Sassuolo this week to negotiate over Manuel Locatelli, who is set to reject Arsenal in favor of a deal with the Turin side.

The 22-year-old midfielder netted two goals for Italy at the

Euro 2020

, and Sassuolo chairman

Giovanni Carnevali

claimed last week that the Old Lady are the only Italian team interested in signing him.

Arsenal

has also made a proposal for the Italy midfielder, who, however, wants to play at the Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri and Sassuolo will meet this week again, according to Sky Sport, La Gazzetta dello Sport, and Calciomercato.com, to negotiate the player's move.

Juventus is willing to offer Sassuolo's €40 million demanding price and sign the player as a loanee with a purchase option according to the pink paper.

On the other hand, Arsenal can manage to pay the entire €40 million before the end of the year.

The Gunners' offer is undoubtedly more suitable for Sassuolo at this time, but the club must weigh the player's interest in joining Juventus.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Locatelli is 'bound' to join the Bianconeri, and the

Serie A

heavyweights will try to strike a deal during their discussion this week.
