Ronaldo wants to extend his stay at Juventus

Sun 04 July 2021 | 10:25

As per reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Portugal international’s agent has talked to Bianconeri over a contract extension until 2023.

Cristiano Ronaldo

has one year left on his contract with

Juventus

and based on the reports, he aims to extend his stay with the Old Lady.

There were reports of the former

Real Madrid

star in talks with the club over an extension earlier this week, but they were denied by Sky Sport.

La Gazzetta dello Sport

claims that the negotiations have yet to start between them, but the Bianconeri were informed by Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would like to sign an extension until 2023.

Juventus know that Mendes offered the 36-year-old to

PSG

and

Manchester United

when the season ended, but the two clubs seem not interested in acquiring Ronaldo’s services.

The Bianconeri are going to think about it since the Portuguese’s salary is hefty with €31m per year.

Although he has found the target 100 times for the club, the coronavirus pandemic made it hard for Juve to afford his salary.

Federico Cherubini, Juventus’ Director of Football, suggested earlier this week that Ronaldo gave ‘no signal’ that he plans to depart this summer.
