Inter starts negotiations with with PSV defender Denzel Dumfries

Inter Milan are keen on signing Denzel Dumfries and is said to have begun negotiations with the Dutch international's representative.

PSV's deal with the 25-year-old expires in June 2023, and according to Calciomercato.com, the Dutch club values him at €20 million.

Inter is hesitant to match the club's asking price but has begun discussions with the player's agency in the hopes of reaching an agreement.

Inter can afford to recruit the right-back as a loanee with a purchase option as per the source, but it's unclear whether PSV will accept such terms, given that the 25-year-old was one of the finest performers for the Netherlands at

Euro 2020

, scoring two goals in four games.

After Achraf Hakimi's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, the

Serie A

champions are on the hunt for a replacement right-back.

The Moroccan international's move isn't finalized yet, but Inter's Chairman Beppe Marotta announced earlier this week that Hakimi will leave the club to join

Ligue 1

giants in a €70 million deal.

Last but not least, Dumfries has been touted as a possible replacement for Hakimi. According to sources, the Serie A reigning champions are also keeping an eye on

Hector Bellerin

Davide Zappacosta

, and

Nahuel Molina
