Fernandes congratulates Mata for signing a new Man Utd contract

, after the Spain international penned a one-year contract with
Manchester United.
The Red Devils announced that the Spanish midfielder will return on Friday, with the 33-year-old putting pen to paper for an extension after his contract expired last month.
Fernandes wore the No. 8 when he was playing for Sporting CP and claimed No. 18 at Old Trafford. The 26-year-old joked about waiting one more year to get his number from Mata who he refers to as “an inspiration”.

Mata joined United in 2014 from Chelsea after three seasons of playing for the Blues. He has contributed to four trophies during his time at United: a Europa League title, an FA Cup, a Carabao Cup and a Community Shield.
He has made 273 appearances for the club, meeting the back of the net 51 times.
However, he has played fewer times last season, with only 18 appearances.
