The Citizens will earn £10m from Sancho’s transfer

Manchester City will earn money from Manchester United’s new signing Jadon Sancho.

Borussia Dortmund

star

Jadon Sancho

will join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side after the medical tests to become the Red Devils’ first summer signing, and the other Manchester team will be handed around £10 million ($13.5m) from Sancho’s move from Dortmund to

Manchester United

.

The reports suggest that the transfer fee will be just under £73m ($101m), and both clubs have agreed on the numbers to complete the transfer of the England international just after the medical tests.

The player initially joined the Bundesliga side from

Manchester City’s

academy in 2017, and the English side received £8m ($11m) added to 15 percent of any future transfer.

Sancho moved from Watford to Manchester City with a £66,000 fee, and they received a further £800,000 when the player moved to Germany. Sancho was teammates with Phil Foden, and both of them had the chance to join the first team, but Sancho refused to sign a new contract with the Citizens and preferred to move to Dortmund after a preseason tour in the United States.

The Citizens’ boss Guardiola has denied a possible return for the 21-year-old despite admitting to his quality.

"We wanted him to stay but he decided to leave, and when people decide to leave all we can do is [let them] leave,"

the City boss said in March before his side played Dortmund in the Champions League.

"I wish him all the best, except when he plays against us. No regrets at all. If he's happy, I'm happy."
