As per De Standaard, Belgium is hopeful Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne will be back in the squad to face Italy on Friday.

The Red Devils are hoping to reclaim De Bruyne before their quarter-final match against Italy, according to the source. De Bruyne came off the pitch against Portugal on Sunday due to a twisted ankle.

Eden Hazard

is concerned that he has sustained a significant hamstring strain, and today's examinations will disclose the depth of his difficulties after the Real Madrid winger requested to be replaced after 87 minutes last night.

The outlook for the quarter-finals was initially bleak, but De Standaard believes De Bruyne has the greatest chance of the two to recuperate in time for the

Euro 2020

quarter-final match against the Azzurri.

Because his ankle is still swollen following the challenge by Sporting midfielder

Joao Palhinha

, the Citizens star will have to wait until tomorrow for the instrumental testing.

Hazard's muscular injury will be assessed in the next hours. Still, according to reports from Belgium, the ex Chelsea striker will not be ready for the encounter against Roberto Mancini's side.
