Modric admits Croatia were ‘disorganized’ against the Czech Republic

The Checkered Ones were held to a frustrating draw in their second Group D battle.

Croatia

had to settle for a 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic in their second Euro 2020 match on Friday. The Czech striker

Patrik Schick

scored the opening goal from the spot in the 37th minute, but

Ivan Perisic

equalized the game for the World Cup runner-ups two minutes into the second half. Croatia were defeated 1-0 by England in their opening match of the tournament and face elimination danger ahead of their upcoming match against Scotland. In a post-match interview,

Luka Modric

spoke about his side’s performance.

The Ballon d'Or winner said:

There is a bitter taste after this match, as we didn't win. We entered the match really disorganised, but then we looked better in the second half.

"We scored that goal and we could have scored even more, but unfortunately we didn't win. Now, we have to defeat Scotland to go through."

Croatia must beat Scotland in their last group stage game on Tuesday to keep their Euro 2020 dreams alive. Perisic believes the team must improve their game after the disappointing result against the Czechs.

The Inter winger said:

"We are not playing well, simply not. I don't know the reason. We had a bad start to the match, we scored that goal later, but we have to show much more against Scotland."
