Netherlands wins second consecutive match in the Euro 2020 in their first two games.

after a hard victory over Ukraine in their first Euro 2020 clash, in a match against Franco Foda’s men, who had defeated Macedonia in their opening match, but Austria didn’t seem to have much to show against the Netherland at the beginning of the first half.

De Boer’s men had the ball in most of the first twenty minutes, and in the tenth minute of the game Alaba who is close to joining Real Madrid, gave the opposition a penalty by committing a foul on Dumfries, and Depay gave his side the lead by scoring from the penalty spot.

The Netherlands didn’t give the opposition any chance to fight even after taking the lead, and they even had multiple opportunities, which were wasted by different players, specially Depay, who had the chance to double his side’s lead and his goals in the match but missed the chance that was created by Woghorst’s impressive pass.

Austria lost the first half by Depay’s goal, but they were lucky they didn’t concede more goals in a game that their strikers rarely touched the ball.

De Boer’s men didn’t lower the pressure in the second half and created an opportunity in the 47th minute of the game, which didn’t get anywhere. In the following five minutes, the Austrians started to show signs of the team that defeated Macedonia in the opening match, but Netherland’s defensive line was successful in defending their side’s one-goal lead.

The game didn’t have the pace that we saw in the first half, in the first fifteen minutes of the second half, but they still had a few chances that were wasted by the strikers of both sides until the 60th minute when De Ligt’s missed the opportunity returned Netherland their controlling position in the game, and they raised the pressure again.

Netherlands' continuing pressure led to their second goal by Denzel Dumfries, who found the back of the net with an unselfish pass from Donyell Malen, who came in as a substitute.

Netherland decided to control the game instead of looking for more goals, and they managed to keep the distance through the remaining minutes of the game, which weren't full of opportunities like the first half.

After this clash, De Boer’s men will face Macedonia, who sits in the last spot of group C, and Austria will face Ukraine.
