talked about the situation on Saturday and revealed that unlike Busquets’, his test was a false positive. The Spain international will join his side on Friday.

I want to thank all the people who have been thinking of me and my condition,”

he said in comments carried by Marca.

“First the president, who called me when I was in the ambulance, and also Luis Enrique and his coaching staff and my colleagues. The welcome they gave me yesterday was very special are some difficult days.”

When an ambulance took him away, it was tough for him. “It was a difficult moment to describe,”

he said.

“I didn’t even know what to think. I hardly slept that night, I just kept thinking about it. I wasn’t someone who’d been in close contact with Busquets; I couldn’t find an explanation. The first hours were devastating, to feel like you’re going to miss out [on Euro 2020] for something you’d never expect. I leaned on my people, on my wife.”

Llorente is going to be up for selection for Spain’s opener clash against Sweden on Monday. Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and Spain are in Group E.

The Armed Forces vaccinated the Spanish squad on Friday, with those who got one dose, receiving the Pfizer vaccine, and those who didn’t get anything received the Janssen.

The favorites to win Euro 2020, however, are France, who became the World Cup champions in 2018 and have a strong team.
