Callum Wilson ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injury

’s side will play their last three matches of the season without the service of Wilson. The club confirmed on Tuesday that the 29-year-old has suffered a hamstring injury in their match against the Foxes that will prevent him from playing again this season.

Newcastle's statement on their

reads:

“Callum Wilson will miss the final three games of the 2020/21 season after injuring his hamstring during Friday's win over Leicester City. Speedy recovery, @CallumWilson.”

Wilson joined Newcastle with a £20 million deal after leaving

Bournemouth

last summer. The English striker has established himself as a crucial player for the Magpies in recent months. Wilson has featured in 26 Premier League matches for Steve Bruce’s side in their current campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing 5 assists.

Newcastle will play against

Manchester City

in their next Premier League match on Friday.
