The Italy international striker Ciro Immobile accepted the Golden Boot award for the 2019-20 season today as he dedicated the prize to the fans.

The award ceremony was held at the Campidoglio Townhall with Rome's civic chairman

Virginia Raggi

and Lazio's CEO

Claudio Lotito

"I only saw the Golden Boot it in pictures, it's a huge satisfaction," the 31-year-old Immobile said.

"I am also proud to receive the award in this room: it would have been different with the fans, but I want to dedicate this award to them.

"I find my strengths in the family, I owe what I am to them, to what they taught me in life before that in the sport," he continued.

"It means I've become a good person, which allows me to win trophies.

"I think the whole team should be proud of this. The best successes are achieved with teamwork.

"Everyone must believe strongly in their dreams. I have nothing special, but I fulfilled my dream. Anyone can do it.

must be one more thing. I want [to win it] at all costs as I wanted the Golden Boot."

"I thought it was fair to award Immobile at the Campidoglio, a symbol of the city because Ciro is a symbol of Rome," said Lotito.

"He is an ambassador of this club and these fans."
