Manchester City set to play UCL home game against Gladbach in Budapest

After winning their first leg match, the Premier League side will once again play at Puskas Arena for their second UCL encounter with Gladbach.

According to the UEFA,

Manchester City

and

Borussia Monchengladbach

second encounter in the Champions League Round of 16 will once again take place in Budapest due to Covid-19 regulations.

The first match, which ended in a 2-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s side, was held at Puskas Arena.

On Wednesday, UEFA released a statement regarding the match, saying:

"UEFA is able to officially confirm that the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg match between Manchester City FC and Borussia VfL 1900 Monchengladbach will now be played at the Puskas Aréna in Budapest.”

"The date of the match (16 March 2021) and the kick-off time (21:00CET) will remain the same.”

"UEFA would like to thank Manchester City FC and Borussia VfL 1900 Monchengladbach for their support and close cooperation, as well as the Hungarian Football Federation for their assistance and agreeing to stage the match."

The decision to hold both home and away games in Budapest was to prevent coronavirus overspread on both sides and also to limit the concerns over the disease.

Alongside City-Gladbach’s match for next Tuesday, Liverpool - RB Leipzig’s clash and

Tottenham

's Europa League match against

Wolfsberger

were also set to be played at Puskas Arena.

Molde

and

Granada

’s Europa League clash, which will be held on March 18th, has been relocated in Budapest as well.
