Hierro urges Real Madrid to keep Sergio Ramos

Real MadridCaptain Fernando Hierro believes Real should extend the contract of
Sergio Ramos, the best center-back in the club's history.
Ramos' contract with Real Madrid will expire at the end of the season and there seems to be no news of a contract extension. He will be a free agent in the summer and has been allowed to negotiate directly with other clubs since January.
Real have not yet reached an agreement with their captain and the financial issues between the two sides have not been resolved. Now Heirro, who was one of the best defenders in Real Madrid, called Ramos the best defender in the history of Real Madrid and urged Los Blancos to extend his contract.
He told
El Confidencial:
“I think we are very similar, by character, by way of being. We also have a very good relationship.
“Sergio is a legend of Real Madrid and hopefully he will finish his sporting career at this club. I believe that players like him should finish in a great club.
“In the sporting aspect, he has conditions that I did not have and for me he is the best centre-back in the club's history.
“That is clear to me because of everything he has represented and I am happy for him, without a doubt.”
