Marco Asensio happy to be back in Real Madrid's 2020/21 run

Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio is remaining optimistic after his long rehabilitation from injury this season

The 24-year-old missed most of the 2019/20 term in the wake of enduring a knee injury in the late spring of 2019.

Despite enduring difficulties in his recovery, he is back in Zinedine Zidane's squad by the end of the season, as

Los Blancos

made sure about the

La Liga

trophy in July.

He has proved himself back into Zidane's arrangements this season, with 15 matches played in the 2020/21 Primera Division, and he found the net for the first time this season in the 2-0 victory against Celta Vigo.

The Spain international is satisfied to be back in the team following a troublesome year and he told in a post-match interview that he is sure of a solid 2021.

“You can already I am coming back, but people do not know that it’s a long process of accumulating games and minutes,” he said.

“I am in the line of recovery and working hard to contribute the most I can to the team.

“We know we had to push hard against Celta because it would hurt if we let the win slip.”

Asensio is believed to remain in Zidane's firing line up for the following end of the week's La Liga face-off against Osasuna regardless of

Eden Hazard

's return to form.

Zidane is probably going to pivot his picks in January, with three significant league fixtures before the month's end for the reigning champions.
