Koke admits Atletico were not as good as Real Madrid in derby defeat

The Rojiblancos midfielder Koke said that his side didn’t play very well and were not as good as their city rivals in their derby defeat.

2-0 with a first-half goal from Casemiro and then an own goal by Jan Oblak, and put an end to Atletico's unbeaten run this season.

“It is a tough and difficult defeat to take,” he told a post-match interview with Marca.

“In the first half we were not in the game, in the second we did perform better.

“But this is football, and we have to continue. La Liga is very long and we are still up there at the top.

“They have played better and been more intense.

“It is time to reflect and see we have not done well, we must improve on it and continue.”

Real Madrid now sit 3rd in the League table with a three-point difference from Atletico Madrid, the league leaders.

Real Sociedad have the chance to steal the first spot if they manage to win at Eibar this weekend.
