Lucescu asks Juve for patience with Pirlo

The Romanian coach believes the Old Lady should give a chance to their young manager because he has great potential to become one of the best.

Dynamo Kiev

head coach,

Mircea Lucescu

, defended his former pupil saying that

Juventus

need to give their coach,

Andrea Pirlo

, some time after their recent Serie A draw. Juventus, who will meet Lusescu’s men on Wednesday for their Champions League clash, are already ahead of Dynamo Kiev with their wins in Group G.

Lucescu, who lost to Juve on their first round, said:

“In the first leg, Juve gave me a good impression. The match was tight, then Juve’s individuals made the difference and we lost 2-0.”

“A big team like Juventus have two teams in their squad. That’s why I warned my players that even if they are through to the next round, they will be the same as always.”

“Squads like Juve and Barcelona are built to always win, especially in the Champions League.”

Later defending Pirlo the Romanian coach added:

“Give him time. In Italy we talk too much, and the coach always becomes the scapegoat.”

“Pirlo is a young coach; he has to deal with a dressing room full of great players and therefore lives a delicate situation.”

“I’m convinced, however, that his talent and his vision of the game, those qualities expressed as a player, will also come out on the bench.”

“In my opinion, coach Pirlo has a great future in his new role too.”

Lucescu also talked about how Juve were

‘unlucky’

this season saying:

“Juve offer very attacking football,” he said. “There’s still something to improve. The Bianconeri made some mistakes against us too.”

“But let’s say that in general, up to now, they have also been a bit unlucky in 2020-21.”
