Voice of Protest: Egyptian Club Raises Banner of Disapproval Against Referees’ Bias

Egyptian Club, led by its president Kamil Abu Ali, officially expressed its protest against the refereeing crew in the Egyptian league match between Modern Future. The crew consisted of Hisham Al-Qadi as the match referee and Wael Farhan as the video assistant referee (VAR). The club’s statement read: ‘The refereeing crew overlooked a clear and explicit penalty in favor of our team, and they did so blatantly and disgracefully. This raises many questions about the integrity of the refereeing trio in that match.’ The statement continued: ‘Additionally, the decision to send off Egyptian player Mido Gaber in a strange manner added to the chaos that erupted during the game. This incident will be widely discussed not only nationally but also within the global sports community.’ The Egyptian Club’s management emphasized that such deliberate behavior by the referees will not only tarnish the reputation of Egyptian refereeing but also reflect poorly on sports administration. It has allowed unqualified referees to negatively influence match outcomes, a situation that has recurred with the Egyptian team throughout the season.’ Furthermore, the statement acknowledged the anger felt by Egyptian fans, including all supporters nationwide, due to this disgraceful scene that evoked widespread frustration. The Egyptian Club’s management affirmed that they will not back down in the face of any attempts to halt the team’s progress. They remain committed to taking necessary measures to protect the club’s rights and the players.
