Kimmich rubbishes problems between Bayern players and Nagelsmann

Bayern shockingly opted to replace Nagelsmann with the former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel last week. Despite early reports, Kimmich insists the former Bayern head coach didn't lose the dressing room at Bayern.

After winning just five of Bayern's last 10 Bundesliga matches, Julian Nagelsmann was sacked as the club's head coach and was immediately replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Despite early reports that claimed there were problems between the players and Nagelsmann, Joshua Kimmich clarifies that Nagelsmann did not lose the trust of his dressing room.

Speaking to

, Kimmich said, "

We won only 5 games out of 10. But I can say that he didn’t lose the dressing room. I’ve already been through a few coaching changes – there was nothing to indicate internally that he lost the dressing room or that players are unhappy. We all were surprised."

However, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn earlier insisted Bayern's players provided him insight into Nagelsmann's tense leadership.

"I let players come into my office, have a coffee and listen in," he said. "I think this is one of the strengths of the club. I think everyone had a very clear picture of how the players were feeling and what kind of situation they found themselves in."
