Galtier bemoans Neymar's possible absence against Bayern Munich

Neymar sustained a right ankle injury that led him to be taken off the field on a stretcher in PSG's 4-3 victory against Lille on February 19. Being absent since then, Galtier reveals the forward may miss the Parisians' Champions League clash against Bayern this week.

Paris Saint-Germain needs to overturn a 1-0 deficit after losing their Champions League round of 16 first-leg at home to the Bundesliga champions. Galtier believes Neymar's absence could be fatal to their European hopes.

Ahead of their Ligue 1 Saturday clash with Nantes, Christophe Galtier told his press conference: "

In the next two games, we won't have Neymar available.

"I think he will miss out against Bayern Munich."

PSG achieved a 3-0 victory over Marseille despite Neymar's absence. However, Galtier denies PSG is more balanced without their Brazilian forward. He added:

"Our block is much more compact, denser.

"With the absence of Neymar, instead of having two midfielders, we will be with three midfielders and two attackers.

"To tell you that Neymar's absence is trivial… no. It's a detrimental absence for us."

The French coach emphasized on the importance of their game against Nantes: "The most important game is the one that's coming. Our squad is weakened by suspensions and injuries, we have to make our way in the league.

"I hope the players don't have the game against Bayern on Wednesday in a corner of their heads. It's important to have a third consecutive victory in the league."
