Bayern Munich manager Nagelsmann says Leipzig draw was a 'fair' result

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann admits that a 1-1 draw with his former team Leipzig was a fair result.

The Bundesliga returned on Friday night after a two-month winter break and

Bayern Munich

settled for a 1-1 draw at

RB Leipzig

.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored for Bayern in the 38th minute but Leipzig levelled with Marcel Halstenberg, seven minutes after the restart.

It appeared Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich was knocked down in the build-up to Leipzig's goal but after a lengthy review, it was ultimately given.

After the game,

Nagelsmann

said he trusts the referee's decision and insisted his team must defend better in that situation.

He told reporters:

"Kimmich won't fall on his own, but in the end I trust the referee.

"I think we can resolve the situation more clearly beforehand, then this scene won't happen at all."

Bayern Munich's 10-match winning run came to an end against Leipzig and Nagelsmann believes a draw was a fair result.

"In the end, you have to take the result as it comes. It was a very wild game at times, but that's normal after such a long time,"

he told Sat1.

"We did many things well and many things badly. We can improve certain things. We gave away good opportunities, so the point at the end was fair."

Bayern is five points clear at the top of the table after 16 matches but second-placed Freiburg has played a game less. Bayern’s next game is against FC Koln at home on Tuesday.
