Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic handed a two-game ban for fighting

Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic have been banned for two games after a huge brawl in a La Liga match on Sunday.

were sent off after a fight in injury time during

Barcelona

's 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

The RFEF Competitions Committee has confirmed that Torres along with Savic have been hit with a two-match ban. Torres will miss Barcelona matches against Getafe and Girona in La Liga.

In the second minute of the injury time, Ferran Torres became embroiled in a scrap with Atletico defender Stefan Savic. Savic dispossessed Torres before bending down on the floor behind him.

Torres flicked the ball away as he was falling over the Atletico defender, but then grabbed Savic by the back of his head and flipped him around. Savic threw his weight onto Torres, with the Barcelona striker at one point left laying on the ground with the defender on top of him. Torres was able to wriggle up though, grabbing Savic by the back of his shirt as the Atletico player put the attacker in a headlock, before pushing away from each other.

Referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero wrote in his report:

"Savic was expelled for the following reason: Holding an opponent by the neck with his arm with excessive force continuously, with the ball in play but not at a distance from being played between the two.

"Torres García, Ferran was sent off for the following reason: Persistently grabbing an opponent by the hair, the ball being in play but not at a distance from being played between them."

Torres and Savic both played for Manchester City at one point in their careers. Savic was a City player from 2010 to 2011 before joining Fiorentina. Torres also joined Man City in 2020 but decided to join Barcelona in last January's transfer window.
