Inter Milan 1-0 Nvapoli: Inzaghi’s men force Napoli to their first loss of the season

Serie A leaders, Napoli met Internazionale on Wednesday at San Siro stadium where they tasted their first defeat of the season at the hands of Inzaghi’s men.

With Milan winning earlier in the day,

’s lead at the top of the table were cut down to 5 points but Spaletti’s men were unable to capitalize on a chance to go 8 points clear as they bowed down to Inter on a day that Edin Dzeko’s headed goal was the decider.

Despite the narrow win, Inter was the better team in the first half but they lost two great chances in the first half when Dimarco and Lukaku both failed to produce end results. But Edin Dzeko became the hero for Inter as he put them in front 10 minutes into the second half.

Napoli controlled much of the game as they had 64% possession throughout the game and created 9 chances as opposed to Inter’s 6 but they weren’t clinical enough in front of the goal.

Unlike their pursuers, Spaletti’s men have started 2023 on a rather dour note. However,

is now only 8 points off the top of the table with Juventus and AC Milan in between them and Napoli.
