Richarlison aims for Brazil’s sixth World Cup title in Qatar

Tottenham winger Richarlison hopes that Brazil extend their record of winning the most World Cups to 6 at Qatar and declares that the Brazil squad “will do everything” to achieve that.

With Brazil having more titles (five titles so far) in the World Cup than any other nation as well as them having one of the best squads in the upcoming World Cup, the Selecao are tipped by many to be one of the favorites to win the competition and their attacker Richarlison says that the team are prepared to “do everything” and win it for Brazil.

Tite’s men have only lost one match since 2019 with that match being last year’s Copa America final against Argentina. One of the key players in Brazil’s great run has been Richarlison who has 18 goals in his 38 appearances for Brazil since 2018.

Speaking to the Euro Sport, the 25-year-old Richarlison talked about Brazil squad’s desire to win the competition:

"If we will win? I don't know, but we will do everything to win the World Cup.

"I prefer that we work in silence, doing our job and doing our best every day. Certainly, Professor Tite [head coach] will prepare us well for a great World Cup."

Richarlison continued by admitting that there may be strong rivals but tipped the odds to Selecao because of their quality and the history that they have, saying:

"I think there are a lot of good teams, but we are

Brazil

.

"We have a lot of history, we've never been out of the World Cup and we're going to the World Cup to honour the shirt. We're definitely going to get something good for us."

"There are a lot of good teams.” Richarlison added

"The defending champions, France. Belgium, for example, and Argentina, which has a good squad and won the Copa America."

Brazil will face Cameroon, Switzerland and Serbia in Group G with their opener being against the

Serbia

on Thursday.
