Luis Enrique wants Spain to reach the Qatar World Cup final

After a 3-1 friendly victory on Thursday that was provided by Spain's youngsters, the Spain head coach sets a high target for his young side in Qatar, aiming for a World Cup final appearance this winter.

Spain

is in Group E with Germany, Japan, and Costa Rica. They will face Costa Rica in their first game on November 23.

After reaching the semi-finals of Euro 2020,

Luis Enrique

aims for an appearance in the final game of this World Cup for La Roja. He told his press conference after the friendly victory over Jordan:

"We are seventh in the FIFA ranking. Our goal is to play seven games in Qatar.

"I have seen the team play well [against Jordan], even if it was not the best time to play so close to the World Cup.

"I think we have played a good game. The result was the least important today, but it's always better to win."

Praising

Fati

and Marco Asensio, who starred in the friendly victory over Jordan, Enrique added:

"It's great news. He [Fati] has a great relationship with the goal. He [Asensio] has been at another level, excellent.

"He has played as a false nine player, and very well. With that attitude, with the quality he has, he can play wherever."
