Ivan toney accused of 232 betting breaches by FA

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been accused of 232 betting breaches by the Football Association

After failing to make Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad, Ivan Toney has now been charged with multiple betting breaches by FA over a four-year period.

Toney will have until November 24 to answer FA’s claims. The

Brentford

striker had recently admitted to cooperate with an investigation over such matters.

"Ivan Toney has been charged with misconduct in relation to alleged breaches of the FA's Betting Rules,"

the official FA statement released on Wednesday stated.

"It is alleged that the Brentford FC forward breached FA Rule E8 232 times between 25 February 2017 and 23 January 2021.

"Ivan Toney has until Thursday 24 November 2022 to provide a response."

Toney has been on form recently despite the England snub. He has scored 10 goals in 14 matches for Brentford in the Premier League before the World Cup hiatus, including a brace against

Manchester City

last weekend which won the game for the Bees.
