Ferdinand claims that there’s 'no way back' for Ronaldo at Man Utd

Following Ronaldo’s controversial interview with TalkTV, his former teammate Rio Ferdinand has come out and criticized the Portuguese superstar

Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed headlines today after his interview with Piers Morgan where he talked about how senior people in the club wanted him out since last season and how he doesn’t respect United manager Eric ten Hag.

The interview had United releasing a statement which seemed like serious trouble coming down the line for the Portuguese star but perhaps the more immediate response has come from United fans and former players, including Rio Ferdinand who has usually taken Ronaldo’s side in his recent struggles with the club.

"I’m quite clear with this situation. It’s over. That love affair with

Manchester United

is finished. The book has been closed, he’s snookered the club and put them into a position where there’s no way back. Whether anyone at the club wanted to keep Ronaldo, they can’t now after what he’s said.”

Ferdinand said on

Vibe with Five

.

"You can't sit here and defend that from

Cristiano Ronaldo

because, deep down, and I know for a fact, this has all been manufactured for one thing and that's for him to leave the club. I don't feel like the club will take him back and I don't think that he wants to come back, that's a given, and I think this is all manufactured for that reason, that he wants to get out of this place."

Ferdinand who was Ronaldo’s teammate at Manchester United for 6 seasons during which they won 3 Premier League titles, as well as a Champions has defended Ronaldo during the past month whenever there was a problem between the Portuguese and the club, but he seems to no longer support him after this interview.
