Nagelsmann predicts ‘outstanding’ Musiala to shine in World Cup

Jamal Musiala helped Bayern widen the gap in the title race as the youngster made two assists.

Julian Nagelsmann lauded Jamal Musiala for his performance against

Schalke

on Saturday and backed him to shine at the World Cup.

Musiala’s appearance against Schalke was a historic one as he became the youngest

Bayern Munich

player ever in the Bundesliga era to reach 100 appearances for the club (aged 19 years and 259 days old). He celeberated the occasion by providing two assists to Gnabry and Choupo-Moting in what was a quiet night for the Bavarians.

"

Jamal

played an outstanding first half of the season,"

Nagelsmann told Sky Sports after the match.

"Hopefully, he will play the World Cup and the second half of the season even better. He has extremely lively feet."

Germany and Bayern Munich’s captain Manuel Neuer ended up praising the young midfielder as well, identifying him as an important figure in both Germany and Bayern squads.

"He is a very important key player,"

Neuer said. "

We are happy that he is with Bayern and also with the national team."

While Thomas Muller has been injured this season, Musiala has slotted right into his place as someone who both creates and scores as the youngster has been involved in 15 direct goal contributions (nine goals, six assists).
