Newcastle’s Almiron and Howe win all Premier League October awards
Helping the Magpies move into the Premier League's top four, Miguel Almiron and Eddie Howe have been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month and Manager of the Month award for October.
Claiming 16 points from their six matches in October,
Miguel Almironscored six goals, a record only matched by Erling Haaland. The Spaniard won the Goal of the Month prize as well, while
Eddie Howe
was awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month. It’s the first time since November 2016 that one club,
Newcastle United, claims all three Premier League monthly awards.
Almiron himself earned the prize for Goal of the Month in April this year when he netted at home to Crystal Palace. It was the first of two Almiron goals in the 4-1 defeat of Fulham. The winger is also the first Magpies player to receive the award since Joe Willock in May 2021.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe had to beat Arsenal's
Mikel Arteta
and Man City's
Pep Guardiola
to achieve the award ahead of the final round of fixtures before the World Cup.
