’s manager in 2019, has just signed a two-year extension to his contract at AC Milan which will keep him at the club until the 2024-25 season.

Pioli who also previously managed

, was not very successful in his time with the Nerazzurri, but his time with AC Milan has proven fruitful since he took them to their first scudetto in a decade, which would also be Milan’s 19th overall- last season.

Pioli was in his last year of contract but the club confirmed his extension, stating:

"Having begun this virtuous path, which led to the 2021-22 Serie A title, AC Milan and Stefano shall continue to work on this ambitious project, which reflects the club's history and values."

After finishing 6th with Milan in his first season, Pioli took the Rossoneri to the second spot and a title challenge the following season, before helming them to a Serie A title in the 2021-22 season. The Italian tactician has a 56.9% win rate at Milan, having won 87 of his 153 matches. They now sit third at the league behind Napoli and Atalanta.

Speaking to Milan’s media outlets, Pioli talked about his contract extension:

“Signing a renewal with Milan is always very exciting, it’s what I wanted and wished for, I thank the owners for this opportunity and the technical area also for the timing in which this contract was done.

“I am very happy, if possible signing this gives me even more energy to continue what we are doing.”
