Aston Villa's offer was too good to turn down - Emery

Emery will be in charge of the 15th-placed team in the Premier League and has the difficult task of improving the team's results.

Unai Emery has claimed that the offer to coach Aston Villa was too good to turn down.

The former Sevilla and Arsenal coach will start his new job at Villa Park at the beginning of November after agreeing to leave Villarreal. He won the 2021 Europa League with the Yellow Submarine and advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League, and now he has replaced Steven Gerrard at Villa. In his last press conference in Spain he announced that Villa's offer was so good that he could not refuse it.

He said:

"Here I have felt something of heart again, but the profession is within me.

"This one, I have considered that I had to take it, as a sports challenge, as a different project.

"It is a personal and professional decision. I left home at the age of 24 and opened myself up to the professional world of football with all the consequences."
