Modric to miss Leipzig match for an unknown reason

In the upcoming match against Leipzig, Madrid will not have their three influential stars.

Real Madrid have confirmed that they will be without Luka Modric for Tuesday's match against Leipzig.

The Croatian star has been left out of the team list for the trip to Germany and the club has not announced the reason for his absence. The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner scored the first goal in his team's 3-1 win over Sevilla in La Liga and was substituted in the 77th minute. Now the club has announced that he will not be in the team list for the match against Leipzig.

Club's statement reads:

"Luka Modric won't play in tomorrow's Champions League group stage match between Real Madrid and Leipzig, at the RB Arena.

"The Croatian had been named in [head coach,Carlo] Ancelotti’s squad for the game, but is a last-minute withdrawal and won't be travelling with the team to Leipzig."

In addition, Modric, Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde are also on the bench due to injuries. With its recent victory in the Champions League, Real Madrid has been able to confirm its promotion to the elimination stage, and if it does not suffer a defeat in Germany, its promotion to the top will be confirmed.
