Gavi won Golden Boy award of 2022
The 18-year-old star won two individual titles in one week to increase his attention.
Barcelona youngster Gavi won the title of Golden Boy of 2022 after performing magnificently during last year's competitions.
The 18-year-old star defeated big rivals like Eduardo Camavinga, Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham to win the title. Meanwhile, a few days ago, he won the Kopa Trophy, which is awarded to the best player under the age of 21, at the Ballon d'Or ceremony by defeating the same competitors.
It was announced at the press conference that Gavi defeated 19 candidates for this title, most of whom were also on the Kopa Trophy list.
Gavi becomes the third Barcelona player to win the title. Before him, Lionel Messi won the Golden Boy title in 2005 and Pedri in 2021. He also became the fourth Spanish player to win the title after Cesc Fabregas, Isco and Pedri.
Gavi played 34 games for Barcelona in La Liga last season and recorded 2 goals and 6 assists. He also played 12 games for Spain and became the youngest player in the history of La Roja.
