Barcelona 3-0 Villarreal: Xavi's men bounce back from Clasico defeat

Barcelona bounced back from El Clasico's loss with a 3-0 home win against Villarreal on Thursday.

Lewandowski

opened the scoring in the 31st minute from Alba’s pass. His backheeled first touch took three Villarreal players out of the game and he send the ball underneath the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Lewandowski just four minutes later scored his second goal. Pedri stole the ball close to the center circle. Pedri found Gavi and he found Lewandowski wide to his left. The striker cuts inside and aimed up a shot from the edge of the box, before curling the ball beyond the goalkeeper’s reach and into the far corner.

Ansu Fati scored the third goal just three minutes later. He placed a close-range shot into the empty net from a low cross by Ferran Torres.

Barca after scoring three goals in seven minutes failed to create dangerous chances in the second half and Villareal also did almost nothing to reduce the deficit and the home side earned a comfortable victory.

Barcelona

will face their former coach Ernesto Valverde's team Athletic Bilbao next in La Liga on Sunday. Barcelona stays in second place with three points behind Real Madrid.

Xavi's men then will play with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday and they need a victory to keep their chances of qualification alive but even if they beat Bayern, Inter will qualify for the next round with a victory against Victoria Plzen.
