Inter moved ahead of Barcelona in Group C with a 1-0 win over them in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Barcelona

thanks to

Hakan Calhanoglu’s

goal in the Champions League on Tuesday to move into second place in Group C. Inter and Barcelona will face again next week at Camp Nou.

Inter players believed they should have a penalty after the ball touched Eric Garcia’s hand but the referee after VAR intervention decided that Lautaro Martinez was deemed to be marginally offside in the build-up.

Inter opened the scoring through Joaquin Correa but this goal was disallowed for offside. Right before half-time, Hakan Calhanoglu scored for Inter with a powerful shot into the bottom corner.

The Best chance for Barca came in the 61st minute but Dembele’s strike hit the post. Just five minutes later, Barcelona equalized through Pedri after Inter players failed to clear the ball but the goal was disallowed after the referee decided that the ball had touched Ansu Fati’s hand.

VAR again frustrated Barcelona in stoppage time at the end of the game after deciding that the ball has not touched Denzel Dumfries' arm in the box.

Bayern Munich is at the top of the group with nine points after three matches. Inter is second with six points ahead of Barcelona with three points. Viktoria Plzen is still without a point.

Xavi's side after two consecutive defeats is at risk of a second successive group-stage elimination in the Champions League but on the other hand, Inter who is in ninth place in Serie A after losing four of their eight league games this season earned a huge victory to ease the pressure on Simone Inzaghi.
