Guardiola “trusts” Grealish after his first goal of the season

The Manchester City boss completely trusts Jack Grealish following his goal for Manchester City in their 3-0 victory over Wolves.

Jack Grealish

, who joined

Manchester City

on a British record-breaking deal worth £100, has been criticized recently and the player admitted that his level of football for City in their win over

Borussia Dortmund

in the Champions League was “not the best”. The City forward met the target early doors in the battle against Wolves and helped his side sit top of the Premier League table.

"I said to them many times they are here because I trust them unconditionally, all of them,"

Guardiola said when quizzed about Grealish thanking him.

"I know them. I trust them unconditionally and Jack is no exception. He scored a goal and it was a good performance. Every time he has the ball it’s one against one against the full-back all the time. Okay he didn’t score or assist but it’s a question of time.

"They don’t have to say thank you. I have confidence in all of them and they have to play for them. Of course, I am happy for him, for the victory, for his incredible personality to play. That’s why I am happy for the goal he scored."

The 27-year-old was feeling a lot of pressure ahead of the match as he did not score any goals or contributed any assists in the Premier League or Champions League in the 2022-23 season. However, he was able to find the back of the net after 55 seconds into the clash against the Wolves. He is determined to return to his best form.

England

are getting ready for the Nations League battle against Italy and the England international will join his national team.
