Belgium to face Egypt in World Cup preparations

The two teams will face each other in November.

The

Belgian Football Association

announced that they will face

Egypt

in a pre-World Cup friendly.

Belgium is one of the favorites to win the Qatar World Cup and is placed in Group F along with

Canada

, Morocco and Croatia. Having reached the semi-finals in the 2018 World Cup, they are aiming to win the championship for the first time in history. For this purpose, Roberto Martinez's side have arranged a friendly match against Egypt for Friday, November 18 in Kuwait.

According to reports, Belgium were expected to face either Algeria or the United Arab Emirates, but in the end they decided to play the Pharaohs instead. Egypt will be a good option to face Belgium because it is one of the teams close to Morocco and has many similarities with this team. Belgium and Egypt also met during the 2018 World Cup build-up, where the Red Devils were drawn with Tunisia.
